Ed Sledge Appointed to IADC Board of Directors
Bradley is pleased to announce that Edward S. Sledge IV, a partner in the firm’s Birmingham office, has been appointed to serve on the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) Board of Directors. Mr. Sledge’s board term runs through 2029.
Mr. Sledge is a business trial lawyer with a diverse litigation practice. He has a wide range of trial experience in high-stakes, bet-the-company disputes for a variety of corporate clients and private equity groups nationwide. He uses collaborative problem-solving to help clients achieve their objectives and is equally adept at representing plaintiffs or defendants in complex commercial disputes. In addition, Mr. Sledge is a frequent lecturer and author on civil litigation and trial issues, and he devotes his time to community service and initiatives that support veterans.
Mr. Sledge is actively involved with the IADC, having recently concluded a two-year term as president of the Foundation Board of the IADC and service as a member of the board from 2018 to 2025. He also served as the director of the IADC Trial Academy at Stanford University in 2023, as the Trial Academy’s director-elect in 2022 and as a member of the Trial Academy faculty in 2018, as well as a past chair of the IADC’s Business Litigation Committee.

IADC members handle cases in all jurisdictions and have been involved in many precedent-setting decisions and appeals. Members represent the largest corporations around the world, including the majority of companies listed in the FORTUNE 500, and they serve as leaders of hundreds of important legal, corporate, industry, and nonprofit organizations.
The core purpose of the IADC is to enhance the development of skills, professionalism, and camaraderie to serve and benefit the members and their clients, as well as the civil justice system, the legal profession, and society in general.
