Community Reinvestment Act: Process, Policy, Politics and Unintended Consequences

The Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) was signed into law in 1977, and in October 2023 regulators issued a final rule amending CRA regulations. The session will cover the history and evolution of the CRA and how it works; polarization on the CRA; and where things stand today. In addition, a lawsuit filed in February by seven trade associations regarding the recent amendments to CRA rules will be discussed.
