Legal Exchange Session: I am a Texas Employer: Why Do I Need to Know About Pay Transparency/Pay Equity?

States and cities outside of Texas have laws requiring employers to share information with job applicants about salary ranges for open positions, whether in job postings, during the hiring process, or upon request. We will talk about these requirements and how they impact employers who seek job applicants who are remote or live in areas with pay transparency laws.

Pay transparency is one way to arrive at pay equity, which means “equal pay for equal work.” We will talk about when to do a pay equity audit (and when not to do one), what it involves, when it can be done under attorney-client privilege, and what to do when the audit is complete.
