PSSA 101 Essentials Workshop
This session is designed to help attendees understand key employment compliance issues affecting non-medical home care providers. Participants will gain practical insight into overtime and wage-and-hour requirements, hiring and termination practices, drug screening considerations, and EEOC compliance, as well as how agencies can prepare for and respond to anticipated changes to the federal companionship exemption rule. In addition to higher-level HR compliance considerations, attendees—particularly agency managers and supervisors—will receive practical guidance relevant to their day-to-day responsibilities, including evaluating performance, disciplining staff, scheduling, and managing employees in a manner consistent with legal requirements and best employment practices. The session will also clarify how Tennessee law applies to these issues, highlighting where it aligns with and where it differs from commonly discussed national guidance.
