5 Bradley Attorneys Elected to Leadership Roles with BBA's Young Lawyers Section

Bradley is pleased to announce that five of the firm’s Birmingham attorneys have been elected to serve in leadership roles with the Birmingham Bar Association (BBA) for the 2026 term.

Mason Kruse, Riley McDaniel, Rachel Sims, Carmen Weite, and Hilary Williamson were elected to the At-Large Committee of the Young Lawyers Section (YLS). All five will serve one-year terms effective January 1, 2026.

The BBA, which has 3,300 members in the greater Birmingham area, facilitates numerous continuing legal education (CLE) programs and offers numerous professional development activities and social events for its membership. The YLS is for bar members who are 36 years old or younger or those in practice for five years or less. The section regularly hosts CLEs, fundraisers and other events that benefit younger members of the legal profession.

Mr. Kruse is a member of Bradley’s Litigation Practice Group, as well as the Cannabis Industry team. He is a frequent author on topics impacting the cannabis industry, including litigation and licensing, particularly as medical marijuana has become legalized in Alabama and Mississippi.

Mr. McDaniel concentrates his practice on high-stakes and appellate litigation throughout the federal and state court systems. He has experience at all stages of litigation in cases that vary in size from single-party disputes to mass-action litigation, and regularly assists clients with legal strategy, motion practice, and appeals.

Ms. Sims is an associate in the firm's Litigation Practice Group, where she handles a diverse range of cases, including complex business disputes, torts, product liability, and life sciences litigation. Her work involves cases in court, arbitration, and mediation, and she has been involved in cases at a variety of stages throughout the litigation process.

Ms. Weite litigates a wide array of civil and commercial disputes — including business torts, breach of contract, product liability, restrictive covenant agreements, trademark infringement, and trade secret misappropriation — in state and federal courts throughout the Southeast.

Ms. Williamson is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, where she handles a diverse range of cases, including complex insurance coverage disputes, torts, product liability, and life sciences litigation. She is an author for the American Bar Association with focus on topics relating to animal insurance litigation and equine-related disputes. In addition to serving on the BBA’s Young Lawyers’ Section, she previously served as the co-chair of the BBA’s Connection Committee and is serving as the co-chair of BBA’s CLE Committee in 2026. Prior to joining Bradley, she clerked for the Hon. Annemarie Axon of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama.
