Bradley attorney Jennifer Trulock was interviewed by NBC 5 about employer obligations and employee voting rights in Texas on Election Day.

The discussion focused on whether employers must give time off to vote and whether that time would count as paid time off. Trulock said employees have a legal right to time off to vote without a loss of pay.

She noted that employers may decide when employees can step away to vote. “The boss gets to adjust for business needs and business necessity. Talk to your manager, talk to your boss, and then maybe he or she can stagger absences throughout the day,” Trulock said.
