Ben Johnson’s practice integrates sophisticated estate planning with a strong litigation foundation. He has extensive experience in civil litigation, particularly in matters involving real property disputes, insurance coverage issues, and contested life-insurance claims. Ben also brings deep familiarity with probate court, including the administration of estates as well as the establishment of conservatorships and guardianships. His litigation background directly informs his estate-planning work. Ben structures estates and trusts with an eye toward real-world risk — anticipating common points of failure, identifying sources of family conflict before they arise, and drafting plans that minimize ambiguity and reduce the likelihood of future disputes.

Estate planning is also personal to Ben. As a third-generation beneficiary of a grandfathered land trust, Ben has firsthand experience with the blessings — and challenges — of multi-generational planning. Working alongside his aunts, uncles, and cousins, he actively participates in stewarding the legacy created by his great-grandfather. This perspective informs his practical, long‑view approach to clients’ goals and family governance.
