    • Represented a closely held corporation in action brought by minority shareholder for appraisal remedy under Georgia’s dissenting shareholder statute after minority shareholder objected to merger consideration being paid pro rata on a per share basis.       Represented Gwen Stefani in claims arising from alleged “crowd rush” caused at stadium during concert. Lisa Keri Stricklin v. Gwen Stefani and Live Nation Entertainment, Inc. (W.D.N.C., 2017-2019)

      Represented the family of Jeffrey Williams in obtaining a $12.1 million recovery for his death due to carbon monoxide poisoning. Estate of Jeffrey Lee Williams v. Best Western Int’l and Jeannie Williams v. Best Western Int’l (N.C. Super., Judge Bridges, (2015-2018)

      Represented international apparel company in lawsuit against competitor alleging infringement of HUE trademark. Kayser-Roth Corporation v. Goodhew, LLC (M.D.N.C., 2015-2016)

      Represented the City of St. Petersburg, Florida, in obtaining a jury verdict of $10.4 million arising out of investment losses suffered after Lehman Brothers collapsed during the financial crisis of 2008.       Represented life insurance company in claims for class certification in first motion to dismiss argued under SLUSA after the landmark Supreme Court decision in Chadbourne & Parke v. Troice. Reittinger, et al. v. The Lincoln National Life Insurance Company (M.D.N.C. 2013)

      Represented company in defense of challenging to the enforceability of a liquidated damages provision in a mortgage loan commitment. Ladco Properties XVII, LLC v. Jefferson-Pilot Life Insurance Company (S.D. Iowa, 8th Circ., 2006-2008)

      Represented insurer in coverage dispute related to alleged losses tied to collapse of Enron Corp. and WorldCom. Bank of America v. Swiss Re International (N.C. Business Ct., 2005-2007)
