Lily Rucker Othmer is an associate in the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice Group.
Lily enjoys counseling clients on a range of day-to-day employment matters, including reasonable accommodations, protected leave, wage and hour concerns, and workplace misconduct, as well as terminations and disciplinary actions. Her practice encompasses providing proactive guidance to facilitate clients' compliance with evolving federal and state employment laws and conducting training sessions for employees and supervisors on managing and preventing workplace issues, such as discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other employee complaints.
Lily also assists clients in drafting and reviewing various employment-related documents, including employment agreements, restrictive covenant agreements, severance agreements, and workplace policies and handbooks.
Her experience includes working on litigation matters concerning a variety of employment claims under both state and federal law, including allegations of discrimination, retaliation, and wage and hour violations. Lily has experience responding to charges filed with government agencies, such as the EEOC, NLRB, and DOJ, on behalf of employers facing allegations of discrimination, retaliation, and unfair labor practices.
Lily earned a J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School, where she was a notes editor for the Vanderbilt Journal of Entertainment & Technology Law. She also received her M.S. in Marketing and B.S. in Commerce & Business Administration with a major in Marketing from the University of Alabama.
