      Tried case and secured award in client’s favor before three-member arbitration panel related to breach of contract and alleged fraudulent representatives over sale of debenture. Witnesses at trial included experts in actuarial science and fair market valuation. The matter also involved a companion federal district court, which settled as a result of the arbitration.

      Online travel company hotel occupancy tax litigation
      National counsel for a leading facilitator of on-line travel company priceline.com in defense of numerous occupational tax cases and audits across the country. This role included serving as lead trial counsel in a two-week trial in New Hampshire. After securing a defense judgment at trial, Anne Marie argued before the New Hampshire Supreme Court, which upheld the trial court’s judgment.

      HealthSouth v. former CEO and outside advisors
      In October 2008, HealthSouth reached a settlement against its former investment bank, through which HealthSouth received $100 million in cash, in addition to the release of counterclaims and a $33 million judgment. The company’s claims against its former CEO, Richard Scrushy, were tried for two weeks in May 2009, after which the trial judge issued an opinion awarding the company over $2.8 billion in damages.

      Member of trial team that secured defense verdict for Merck after Alabama state court jury trial. Coordinated state defense of claims with national team, including numerous jurisdictional battles, development of expert testimony, and preparation of cases for trial.

      Poarch Band of Creek Indians
      Tried week-long, multimillion-dollar construction dispute in Poarch Band of Creek Indian Tribal Court.

      Baycol litigation
      Coordinated firm’s defense efforts for hundreds of state and multi-district court cases. Extensive work in developing removal briefing, expert testimony, and settlement strategy.
