Eric Stocking is an associate in the firm’s Corporate & Securities Practice Group. He has experience assisting clients with financial services, e-commerce, cybersecurity, data privacy, and transportation and logistics matters. He assists with M&A transactions by conducting due diligence, drafting disclosure schedules, reviewing purchase agreements, and drafting ancillary transaction documents. Eric also provides support to clients complying with federal, state and European Union privacy laws and offers guidance on federal regulatory requirements. Eric is designated as a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
After graduating from law school, Eric was an honors attorney with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Office of the General Counsel and provided legal advice to the agency’s staff and executive branch leadership, focused on regulating the U.S. nuclear industry and the security of U.S. critical infrastructure.
Eric earned his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School and his B.A. in History from Purdue University. Before graduating from law school, Eric interned with subagencies of the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and the U.S. Department of Justice, where he drafted various legal memoranda.
