In-Depth Perspective of the Government’s Scrutiny and Focus on COVID-19 Healthcare-Fraud Related Schemes

This day-long course will offer a diverse range of speakers versed in specialty areas within the practice of health care law.

Panelists Ben Curtis, Jill Davis, and Jason Mehta will offer an in-depth perspective of the government’s scrutiny and focus on COVID-19 healthcare-fraud related schemes. Leveraging their experience in government, Ben and Jason will discuss some of the creative fraud schemes uncovered in the past year—such as misuse of the HRSA uninsured portal, billing for fictitious COVID cures, and other schemes—and will discuss some of the practical prosecutions likely in 2022 and beyond. Jill will use her in-house experience at Orlando Health to comment on how these fraud schemes can ensnare large and small practices alike and how the government’s scrutiny will likely affect large employers.
