Mid-Year Legal Update for Rural Healthcare Providers

This session will review the recent changes to state and federal laws governing rural healthcare providers.  The participants will review and analyze the One Big Beautiful Bill and its impact on the payor programs that impact the financial viability of rural providers.  The discussion will include a review of the Office of Inspector General (“OIG”) work plan and the areas of focus for healthcare providers.  This presentation will also review recent Department of Justice cases, findings and settlements related to Stark, Anti-kickback and False Claims Act liability.  It will also highlight the recent HIPAA Resolution Agreements and lessons learned from the Office of Civil Rights when enforcing privacy and security standards.
