Bradley proudly announces that Margaret Oertling Cupples has been named the recipient of the Legacy Visionary Award by the Women’s Foundation of Mississippi (WFM). Ms. Cupples will receive the award at the organization’s 2026 Visionaries “Women Who Move Mississippi” event on March 27 at the Two Mississippi Museums.

The WFM’s Visionary Awards honor women across Mississippi who are advancing opportunities for women and girls through advocacy, education, wellness, and community impact. Ms. Cupples is being recognized with the Legacy Visionary Award for her leadership as an engaged civic leader and for stepping into roles that strengthen organizations serving women, children, and neighborhoods.

“We are thrilled that Margaret is receiving this well-deserved recognition for her leadership and advocacy in the local community,” said Bradley Chairman of the Board and Managing Partner Jonathan M. Skeeters. “Margaret is known for her skilled legal writing and trusted counsel for complex legal issues, and she brings that same skill and passion to her pro bono and philanthropic work.”

Ms. Cupples is the managing partner of Bradley’s Jackson office and concentrates her practice on civil appeals and commercial litigation, with a focus on writing briefs and motions. She has participated in dozens of appeals before the Mississippi Supreme Court, Mississippi Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Sixth circuits. Ms. Cupples serves on The Mississippi Bar’s Board of Commissioners and oversees its Diversity Committee. In addition, she previously served as president and a board member for both the Capital Area Bar Association and for the Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit.

An active member of the local community, Ms. Cupples has served on several nonprofit boards, including the Women’s Foundation of Mississippi from 2020 to 2024, serving as its chair in 2022. She also has served as a board member for the Greater Belhaven Neighborhood Foundation, the Junior League of Jackson, the Mississippi Children’s Museum, the Capital Area Bar Association, the Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit, and the Trinity University National Alumni Board.

The WFM is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing economic security for women through grant-making, community engagement, and research. The foundation began as a field-of-interest fund within the Community Foundation of Greater Jackson and has evolved into an independent, statewide organization that supports programs and distributes hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants each year to community colleges and early education programs to broaden access to opportunity and increase self-sufficiency for women and families.
