Bradley Adds Real Estate Partner Josh Portnoy, Continues Growth in Atlanta
Bradley has added Joshua B. Portnoy as a partner in the Real Estate Practice Group, continuing the growth of the firm’s Atlanta office. With the addition of Mr. Portnoy, the Atlanta office now has more than 70 attorneys representing clients nationally and throughout the Southeast.
“Josh brings substantial experience handling sophisticated real estate acquisitions, development, redevelopment, and financing strategies that will strengthen our capabilities in Atlanta and across the firm,” said Bradley Atlanta Office Managing Partner Deborah Cazan. “Our real estate and finance team continues to see increased deal activity and demand for experienced counsel. Josh’s background makes him an ideal fit for our clients and our team and supports the firm’s continued growth and expanding national platform.”
Mr. Portnoy previously served for more than six years as general counsel for Hatteras Sky, a nationwide commercial real estate company focused on hospitality and multifamily development. In that role, he worked closely with the company’s acquisition, development, asset management, and property management teams throughout the full lifecycle of projects, from due diligence and predevelopment through construction and operations. He oversaw compliance with investor reporting requirements and other regulatory and contractual obligations while gaining extensive experience negotiating transactions with real estate investment firms, historic tax credit syndicators, national banks, and community lenders to secure financing for ground-up and historic redevelopment projects. He also worked closely with hotel operators to oversee the initial ramp-up and soft branding of boutique, independent hotels.
Prior to focusing on real estate, Mr. Portnoy spent nearly a decade in private practice litigating high-profile and complex commercial, employment, governmental liability, and personal injury matters. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law and received his B.A., cum laude, from Wake Forest University.
Since opening in 2023, Bradley’s Atlanta office has rapidly expanded, making it one of the fastest-growing offices in the firm’s history. The office has strategically added prominent attorneys to meet growing client demand across key practice areas, including real estate, corporate and securities, litigation, construction, labor and employment, financial services, and intellectual property.
Bradley’s Real Estate Practice Group serves every sector of the real estate industry, advising clients on acquisitions, financing, lending, leasing, construction, regulatory matters, tax issues, and more. The team handles complex, multimillion-dollar projects for large institutions as well as ongoing transactions for clients whose primary businesses are real estate investment and development.
