Josh Portnoy is a commercial real estate attorney with substantial experience structuring, negotiating, and closing complex debt and equity transactions for multifamily and hospitality projects nationwide. His experience includes tax-incentivized projects involving the syndication of historic tax credits for adaptive redevelopments of historic buildings and fund formation for projects located in opportunity zones. He has served as general counsel for a commercial real estate development firm, where he worked closely with the acquisition and development teams to manage the initial diligence, predevelopment, and construction phases for projects totaling more than $700 million in aggregate development costs. Josh also has worked closely with hotel operators to oversee the initial ramp-up and soft branding of boutique, independent hotels.

Prior to focusing his practice on real estate, Josh spent nearly a decade litigating high-profile and complex commercial, real estate, employment, governmental liability, and personal injury matters in state and federal courts.
