Bradley's Margaret Oertling Cupples Recognized with 2026 Outstanding Community Service Award by Capital Area Bar Association

Bradley proudly announces that partner Margaret Oertling Cupples has been recognized with the 2026 Outstanding Community Service Award by the Capital Area Bar Association (CABA). Ms. Cupples was presented with the award at the CABA’s annual Evening Honoring the Judiciary event held on May 12.

The CABA Outstanding Community Service Award is given each year to an individual who has demonstrated a long-standing commitment to serving the local and legal community through pro bono efforts, volunteerism, and civic involvement.

Ms. Cupples, managing partner of Bradley’s Jackson office, concentrates her practice on civil appeals and commercial litigation, with a focus on writing briefs and motions, and has participated in dozens of appeals before the Mississippi Supreme Court and Court of Appeals, as well as the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Sixth circuits. She serves on the Mississippi Bar’s Board of Commissioners and is currently serving as chair of the Mississippi Bar’s Diversity Committee. She previously served as president and a board member for both the Capital Area Bar Association and the Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit. Her practice has been recognized in numerous industry publications, including The Best Lawyers in America®, Chambers USA and Benchmark Litigation.

An active member of the local community, Ms. Cupples has served on several nonprofit boards, including the Women’s Foundation of Mississippi, the Greater Belhaven Neighborhood Foundation, the Junior League of Jackson, the Mississippi Children’s Museum, and the Trinity University National Alumni Board. She has been recognized for her pro bono work and volunteer leadership with numerous awards, including the Women’s Foundation of Mississippi’s Legacy Visionary Award, the Junior League of Jackson’s Amalie Fair Robinson Sustainer of the Year Award, and the Mississippi Bar’s Susie Blue Buchanan Award.

CABA is a voluntary bar association in Mississippi serving Hinds County that provides members with opportunities to engage on current legal issues through publications and educational events. CABA is dedicated to promoting and maintaining high standards of professional service and conduct towards clients, fellow lawyers, the public, and the courts.
