Laura Bacon is an associate in the Banking and Financial Services Practice Group. Her practice involves assisting financial institutions, mortgage lenders, licensed lenders, and loan servicers with the development and maintenance of their regulatory compliance programs for consumer financial services, with a special focus on mortgages. She tracks and monitors federal and state governments for regulatory and legislative updates relative to mortgage loans, installment loans, and automotive retail contracts and loans.

Laura assists clients with federal and state law compliance and counsels on legislative and regulatory changes, licensing requirements, and consumer credit laws.

Laura received her J.D. (magna cum laude) from the Francis King Carey School of Law at the University of Maryland, where she was managing editor of the Maryland Law Journal of Race, Religion, Gender and Class. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from the University of Maryland at College Park.
