Amanda Hoefer is an associate in the firm’s Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Practice Group.
Amanda graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2019, where she was the executive online editor of the Journal of Intellectual Property Law. She also interned for the Hon. Mary G. Lewis of the U.S. District Court for South Carolina and the Federal Labor Relations Authority in Washington, D.C., and participated in the University of Georgia’s Business Law Clinic.
After graduating from law school, Amanda worked as a staff attorney for the Supreme Court of South Carolina, where she assessed petitions for certiorari and advised the justices on whether further appellate review was appropriate. During her time at the Supreme Court of South Carolina, she worked on matters ranging from requests for post-conviction relief to shareholder derivative suits. Amanda then worked as an associate in a financial services litigation practice at another law firm before clerking for the Hon. L. Jefferson Davis IV of the United States Bankruptcy Court of the District of South Carolina. During her clerkship, she drafted opinions, orders, and bench memoranda relating to bankruptcy hearings, trials, and mediations.
Amanda also has a B.A. in English and a B.A. in Philosophy from Clemson University.
