Carly Kirkland is an associate in the firm’s Healthcare Practice Group who focuses her practice primarily on issues affecting the healthcare industry, including healthcare transactions, regulatory compliance matters, day-to-day business operations, and related investigations and disputes. As part of her administrative and regulatory practice, she advises healthcare providers and suppliers on matters such as Medicare/ Medicaid compliance, fraud and abuse issues, Stark Law compliance, internal audits and investigations; government agency and other payer investigations and inquiries; and compliance with other state and federal regulatory requirements.
Carly advises healthcare providers and suppliers in responding to investigations and inquiries from government agencies and other payors, as well as on their obligations under federal and state law to ensure the privacy and security of protected health information and other confidential records.
She has a bachelor’s degree in letters with a focus in constitutional studies from the University of Oklahoma and a J.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. While in law school, Carly was a member of the Chicago Bar Moot Court Team and the Victim Advocacy Program, was honored with the David Swank Professionalism Award and an MD Anderson Adolescent & Young Adult Scholarship, and earned an American Jurisprudence Award in legal research and writing. She also worked as a legal intern at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
