David has been married for almost 40 years to his wife, Debra. He has two daughters, English, who works in San Francisco for Ideo as a senior writer, and Eliza, who graduated from Emory law school in 2020 and is presently a clerk for a federal trial judge and will then practice with a law firm in Atlanta, Georgia.
