Derek Terry counsels clients in commercial real estate and finance transactions, with a focus on the financing, leasing, and acquisition of a variety of commercial real estate asset classes, including long term care and senior housing facilities, multifamily housing, and other healthcare facilities and properties. Derek assists with corporate due diligence and drafting and negotiating loan agreements and related documents to and through closing.

Additionally, Derek helps clients navigate mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, securities law compliance, and commercial contracting matters. He enjoys working with clients in all phases of growth, from emerging startups to multinational corporations. Derek assists clients in a range of sectors, including real estate, financial services, manufacturing, transportation, food and beverage, and hospitality.

His experience includes transactional work, corporate governance, due diligence, drafting and reviewing a wide range of contracts, and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings. In addition, he counsels clients in the hotel, restaurant and hospitality industry on operational and alcoholic beverage licensing and compliance, assisting them with acquiring and maintaining licenses to launch or expand their businesses. He has experience with state and local regulatory agencies, acting as a liaison between clients and government agencies, as well as representing clients at regulatory hearings.
