Heather Wright has experience in the trial and appellate litigation of a wide variety of commercial matters. Heather currently oversees financial services litigation for large mortgage servicing clients. In this capacity, she supervises the litigation efforts of several attorneys from initial case assessment through final resolution of cases. Heather also assists in managing a large servicer’s portfolio of litigation associated with claims that foreclosure of a homeowner’s association super-priority lien can extinguish a deed of trust.
Much of her practice involves representing financial institutions and mortgage servicers defending causes of action, including alleged violations of the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) and Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Heather also litigates cases in state and federal court for these clients involving real estate disputes, title disputes, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud and consumer protection violations.
Heather also devotes a portion of her practice to advising commercial insurance policyholders regarding coverage available through commercial general liability, directors and officers, and errors and omissions policies. She can manage insurance coverage matters from pre-complaint negotiations through trial and appeal. She also counsels clients and frequently speaks on insurance coverage issues.
