Bradley has a long history of assisting foreign investors with real estate acquisitions in the United States. We have represented several German institutional investors, syndicators and individuals who are very active in purchasing and financing investment grade properties throughout the United States. During the preceding six years, we have represented German investors in transactions that exceed US $1.25 billion in total value. These investments include office, retail and resort properties in New York, California, Texas, New Jersey, Georgia, Florida, Arizona, Washington D.C., Maryland, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Virginia. We assist these investors with various deal structures, including fee simple purchases, ground leases, master leases and joint ventures with owners and developers who are based in the United States.
We also have been active in various economic development initiatives, including assisting Japanese automobile manufacturing companies and many ancillary Japanese businesses that have located facilities in Tennessee and Alabama. This assistance includes land purchases, bond financing, PILOT agreements, environmental, labor and employment, and other general legal services. Our lawyers have participated with the Governors of Alabama and Tennessee and state Economic Development Authorities in visits to China, Japan, Singapore, Korea and Hong Kong to recruit international investment.
To complement and enhance our experience in this area, the firm is a member of two global networks. We belong to the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate (AFIRE), the only not-for-profit association for the foreign real estate investment community. AFIRE members have a common interest in preserving and promoting international real estate investments.
