At the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and in private practice, Beccah has led litigations and investigations impacting banks, credit unions, nonbank mortgage companies, automobile and other lenders, credit card issuers and servicers, student loan servicers, debt relief companies, nonbank debt collectors, securities brokerage firms, private equity firms, and remittance providers, among others. Beccah knows the myriad laws and regulations governing financial product and service providers, and she understands the stakes involved in government investigations, enforcement actions, and litigation. Beccah also leverages her experience at the United States Department of Justice’s Tax Division and the IRS Office of Chief Counsel to represent clients in tax disputes with the IRS, administratively and in litigation. For 10 years, she represented the IRS in federal district, bankruptcy, and tax courts, advised revenue officers and agents on administrative actions, and presented matters to the IRS’s independent Office of Appeals.
