Justin Gunter is a partner in the firm's Litigation Practice Group. Justin represents clients in a wide range of complex and technical litigation matters, including insurance coverage disputes, class actions, and cases on appeal. His clients include banks and broker-dealers, as well as clients in the technology, healthcare, and logistics industries. His strategic approach to litigation ensures that his clients' interests are proactively protected and advanced in litigation.
Justin advocates for policyholders navigating the complex landscape of insurance claims and coverage disputes. He represents businesses and individuals in the presentation, negotiation, and litigation of claims under a wide variety of insurance policies, including commercial general liability (CGL), professional liability (E&O), cyber liability, directors and officers (D&O), property, and business interruption coverage. His practice is focused on helping clients secure the full benefits of the insurance coverage they’ve paid for — whether they’re facing a denied claim, insurer delays, or coverage disputes.
Justin represents clients in complex appeals in both state and federal courts, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the Georgia Supreme Court, and the Georgia Court of Appeals. He provides strategic counsel and advocacy through all stages of the appellate process, including matters that shape legal precedent and impact broader business and legal interests. Leveraging his appellate experience, Justin serves as embedded appellate counsel at the trial level. In that role, he works alongside trial teams to craft and argue dispositive motions, Daubert motions, and motions in limine. He manages legal and evidentiary issues as they arise in real time during trial and ensures that key appellate arguments are preserved for review. This integrated approach allows Justin to provide forward-looking appellate strategy while contributing to trial-level success..
