    • United States v. SunTrust Mortgage, Inc.; United States v. HSBC North America Holdings, Inc. et al.; and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, et al. v. Ocwen Financial Corporation and Ocwen Loan Servicing, LLC
      Negotiated successful outcomes in complex, national bet-the-company matters that resulted in settlements with 49 state attorneys general, the DOJ, CFPB, HUD, Executive Office of the United States Trustees, 48 state financial regulators, and other government parties. 

  • Examinations
    • Represented large financial institutions throughout various stages of Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) examinations, including conducting a full risk assessment and early remediation of identified issues, compiling the documentation necessary to respond to the CFPB’s initial request for information, responding to requests for additional information, developing remediation strategy for issues identified during the course of the examination, and responding to PARR and supervisory letters.

  • Regulatory Compliance Matters
    • Conducted a comprehensive risk assessment of a debt collection agency for compliance with the CFPB Debt Collection Examination Procedures.

      Assisted a bank’s ongoing efforts to comply with various state and federal obligations related to late-stage collection efforts for a number of financial products, including credit cards and auto loans.

      Helped a bank develop a comprehensive debt sale program related to a number of severely delinquent financial products.

      Assisted a bank in reviewing all correspondence sent on auto loans, credit card accounts, and small dollar loans for compliance with applicable state laws.
