Jon Patterson has substantial experience in the single-borrower mortgage litigation arena, managing the litigation of over 1,500 cases across the country for various mortgage servicers. He advises mortgage servicers in defense of various claims arising out of alleged violations of state and federal law – namely the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Real Estate Settlement and Procedures Act (RESPA), the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). He has handled cases through all stages of the litigation process, including arbitration hearings, mediation, jury trials, bench trials, and injunctive relief hearings.
Jon’s practice, in part, also focuses on HOA super-priority lien litigation, and he is a regular contributor to the firm’s Financial Services Perspectives blog. He is a regular instructor for the Mortgage Bankers Association at its School of Mortgage Banking, teaching regulatory compliance, mortgage law, and ethics in the financial services industry.
Jon frequently travels to handle matters across the country, including Nevada, Texas, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin.
