Charlie is an avid runner having completed (among other races) five marathons, over 12 half-marathons and seven 200-mile 24-hour relay races.
Charlie graduated from U. S. Army Airborne School and was commissioned as a United States Army Officer. He served in the reserves as a military police officer until 1994.
